Looking for early morning drivers to the red-eye ferry
Lahari’s Door to Door is calling for volunteer drivers willing to take riders for the red-eye ferry for vital medical appointments (such as dialysis). Many islanders lack transportation options when needing to make it to the early ferry. A ride to the ferry could exponentially extend someone’s ability to stay in their home and community.
Our volunteer process is pretty quick and easy. Volunteer drivers undergo a background check, receive training and use their vehicles for rides they choose to take (personal vehicles are covered under Lahari when volunteering).
If you are an early morning person and wish to volunteer to give someone a ride, interested volunteers can reach us at 360-622-2909 or orcasdoortodoor.org.
