A beautiful, serene photo of Orcas Island’s Deer Harbor Village shows up in a recent Architectural Digest issue showcasing the prettiest towns in each state. Recognized by travelers world-wide, our sun-coast village is truly a lovely sight. The accompanying story, however, tells of the Mediterranean climate of Friday Harbor:
“Blessed with delightfully damp weather on occasion but a Mediterranean climate most of the time, Friday Harbor is part of the San Juan Islands, and located on San Juan Island itself. It’s accessible from Seattle via a seaplane or ferry.”
We at Orcas Issues think that the choice of photo accurately depicts the unique beauty not only of the San Juans, but the entire state of Washington.
