In recognition of Poetry Month, and to celebrate and highlight our treasure trove of Orcas Island poets, Orcas Issues is pleased and honored to again offer daily poetry during April.
QUANTUM DANCE PARTNER
— by Suzan Chamberlayne —
A single hair is dancing
On my sleeve.
Watching gives it life
As I breathe.
And if I laugh,
It twirls about,
Like I’ve given the cue
For stepping out!
We share the joy of reflection,
That hair and me.
FRESH START
— by Suzan Chamberlayne —
It’s time to dust
My shelf of good intentions
Whether depth of summer
Or weft of winter
No season’s too late
To spring clean
Pick up fragments
Of broken promises
Collect blown litter
Of scattered dreams
Lift loads, clear clutter
Make room for life
CO-CREATION
— by Suzan Chamberlayne
Whether we paint or pot,
Write or render,
Tapping our creative aspect
Sends a Morse-like message
Honoring our godhead
And heart.
