A web service has launched giving Orcas Islanders a new tool for buying, borrowing, and selling items. OrcasHub also has a section for housing listings, and there are plans to add a community events calendar soon.
OrcasHub is designed, built, and even hosted right here on Orcas Island. It was created to be a home for the Orcas community that can evolve and grow as needs change. OrcasHub is free to use, open to any resident of San Juan County, and has no ads or tracking.
Come join OrcasHub at https://orcas.community!

“OrcasHub is a passion project by an individual living on Orcas.” Who is this individual?
This is a project a number of us have tried to implement in one form or another, via the Library and otherwise. There does seem to be enough of a need for it that I’m happy to share my own experiences with this inspired individual (he does share a link). The challenge will be to build community participation, similar to the Lopez Rocks service.
Join OrcasHub and tell your friends and neighbors. Free yourself from FaceBook! I joined last night and posted one classified ad; had two emails within hours. It’s easy to use and based on Orcas. What’s not to like?
I’m with Ken. I saw his ad and connected with him right away. I’ve hoped for an Orcas-based site akin to Craigslist and am happy to see it launched.
Dan, I’m the individual :) Please feel free to reach out to me using the contact form at the bottom of the OrcasHub homepage if you have any questions or feedback. Thank you!
