Moving into Younger Life workshop 4-6 p.m.Healing Arts Center practitioner Christopher Evans announces a weekend workshop that promises to change your body and brain connection. Co-taught by Feldenkrais practitioner, Chris Elms, the workshop will focus on movement with awareness pioneered by Mosche Feldenkrais, and currently elaborated by Anat Baniel. Move again the way you did when you were a kid. Couples are encouraged to attend to progress in relationship. Cost: $90/entire weekend or $150 per couple at the Buddha Barn. Salmonberry School hosts Family Dance night. Sponsored by the Preschools of Orcas Island together with Orcas Family Connections There will be a bake sale, and costumes are encouraged! All proceeds of this fundraiser will directly support the four preschools of Orcas Island and Orcas Family Connections. All funds will be shared equally between the hosting groups. At Odd Fellow’s Hall from 6 to 8 p.m.
A wine tasting benefit for Louise Sasan. All proceeds from this evening will go to financially support her battle against breast cancer. A unique, virtual wine and food trip around the world beginning at 6 p.m. at the Episcopal Parish Hall in Eastsound. Hors d’oeuvres prepared by local chefs and restaurants and a silent auction with services, art, accommodations, and goods all donated from the community. Childcare is available at Kaleidoscope. Tickets are $30 per person and are available at Teezer’s, Ray’s Pharmacy, and Chez Chloe.
Spring Concert with the Orcas Island Community Band, 7:30 p.m. at the Orcas Center. Step back in time and enjoy traditional concert band music with your musician-neighbors and friends. The 40-member Orcas Island Community Band, in its 18th season, brings lively, lovely, and luscious melodies to life in their annual spring concert under the direction of Joe Babcock.
