On Sunday, July 1, the American Legion Post family will prepare a Pig Roast Dinner from 5 to 7 p..m. The event is the Post’s third annual roast and fundraiser.
This year will feature two pigs roasted on the Post grounds at 793 Crescent Beach Road. Each pig weighs over 120 pounds and will be visible on the “spit” once the roasting begins late on Saturday afternoon. Volunteers will tend to the roast throughout the night and into the day on Sunday.
The dinner is open to the public. The cost is $20 per person. The meal will feature roast pork, baked beans, potato salad, vegetables, choice of salads, desserts and beverage. This fundraiser will be presented by Legion members, Auxiliary members and members of the Sons of the American Legion.
In conjunction with the roast the Post will be holding a Membership Drive. Members of the three organizations (Post, Auxiliary and Sons) will be available to answer any questions about goals, eligibility, cost of membership of each group.
