— from Eric Webb, Superintendent, Orcas Island School District —

The district utilized the law firm of Patterson Buchanan Fobes & Leitch Inc. and an outside investigator to conduct a thorough and extensive investigation into the alleged allegations involving the [elemenatry grade] teacher.

The teacher in question was placed on paid administrative leave during the investigation, which is standard district procedure. The investigation has concluded and the findings were submitted to the district in a summative report.

The district has acted upon these findings and now consider the matter to be closed and is looking forward to the 2016-2017 school year. The teacher will be teaching in our OASIS program for the 2016-2017 school year. This transition was requested by the teacher and approved by me in March of this year.
