sorta like “sun breaks” in the weather report
Last Thursday afternoon the Samish was running about an hour late. When I asked one of the ferry workers why, he replied with a straight face, “We don’t consider that late!”
This reply tells me a lot about the culture of our ferry workers.
Indeed, the Samish showed up almost an hour late, due to the fact that one of its engines was down. By the time it got back to Anacortes, it was over an hour late.
