Friday,  November 1, 5:30 – 7 p.m., Orcas Center

— from Kathleen Youngren —

The November art exhibit at Orcas Center will give Islanders a chance to witness the opportunities available on the Island for adults to study art.  Five accomplished Orcas artists,  who share their talents through their teachings, will be featured.  Their work, as well as the work of their many students, will be on display  throughout the month of November and through much of December. The art teachers include Caroline Buchanan (water color painting)  Terry Johnson (oil painting) Mary Jane Elgin (ceramics),  Penny Sharp Sky (ceramics) and Walter Henderson (wood carving)  The inspiring work of the teachers and nearly 40 of their students will be on display.

If you are thinking about getting re-acquainted with your creative self, this exhibit will give you a chance  to see opportunities for artistic instruction, witness the success of current adult students, and be very, very inspired.

OPENING RECEPTION:   Friday,  Nov. 1, 5:30 to 7:00
Teachers and students will be available to answer questions about their classes and their work. Participants are reminded to bring treats for the reception.
