Doug Bechtel presents a check for funds raised by Actors’ Theater audiences to Hilary Canty of the Community Foundation. The funds will benefit the rebuilding of the Orcas Exchange.

When the Exchange burned a few weeks ago, the Actor’s Theater lost a valued resource. Director Doug Bechtel relied on the Exchange for all variety of props, costumes and supplies for the Theater’s productions.
During their recent performances of Hotbed Hotel, the Actor’s Theater passed the hat and raised $1,435 from their generous audiences to support reconstruction of the Exchange facility. Doug Bechtel presented a check to Orcas Island Community Foundation Director Hilary Canty to deposit in the Phoenix Fund, the account established by the Exchange to support rebuilding efforts.
