San Juan Deputies responded to a report of a residential burglary. The victim did not want to pursue charges and the incident was documented.

San Juan Deputies responded to a report of vandalism. Suspect was trespassed from the property and charges were forwarded to the prosecutor.

Orcas Island Deputies were dispatched with Orcas Island Fire & Rescue to a motor vehicle accident. The driver was transported off the island for a medical evaluation. The investigation is ongoing.

A Deputy on Orcas Island received a parking complaint at the ferry terminal. A 72-hour parking violation notice was placed on the vehicle.

A Deputy on San Juan Island recovered lost property. The property was returned to the owner.
21-001416 Accident-HitRun 13:01:19 02/18/21
A Deputy on San Juan responded to an Accident – Hit and Run call. Upon investigation, the victim’s vehicle did not sustain any damage and had no signs of contacting another vehicle.
21-001429 Accident-Injury, Traffic 18:17:04 02/18/21
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a single vehicle collision. The driver was no longer on scene. A registered owner was contacted and arranged to remove the vehicle.
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 19
21-001435 Attempted Suicide 09:15:42 02/19/21
A 17-year old attempted suicide. The juvenile was transported to the hospital in stable condition for a mental health assessment.
21-001452 Missing Person 16:49:09 02/19/21
Orcas Deputies responded to a report of missing woman who was suffering from dementia. After an exhaustive search she was found the following day and appeared to be in good condition.

An Orcas Island Deputy was dispatched to a callback. An informational report was taken.

21-001472 Accident-HitRun 12:45:58 02/20/21
A Deputy on San Juan responded to a hit and run. No suspect information at this time. A report was taken.
21-001480 Traffic Hazard 14:39:29 02/20/21
A Lopez Island Deputy responded to a report of a tree down partially blocking Aleck Bay Rd. Public Works responded and cleared the tree from the road. No further action was necessary.

A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a theft complaint. The property in question was returned and the issue resolved to the complainant’s satisfaction.
21-001482 Traffic Hazard 14:51:47 02/20/21
A Deputy spoke with a Lopez Island resident regarding a reckless driving incident on Mud Bay Road. The reporting person stated another driver sped by her by crossing a double yellow line speeding into a blind curve. The matter has been forwarded to the prosecutor’s office as a criminal complaint.

San Juan Deputies were dispatched to a Hit and Run collision involving damaged property. Witnesses were unable to fully identify the vehicle and no likely suspect was located in the search that followed. Report made.
SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 21

A Deputy on San Juan responded to a citizen dispute. The dispute was settled and an infraction for dog at large was issued. Additional charges will be referred to the prosecutor.
21-001509 Disorderly Conduct 10:11:30 02/21/21
A Lopez Island Deputy responded to the ferry landing for a reported disorderly subject aboard the arriving ferry. The subject had gone into an area not allowed. The subject was warned of the consequences of his behavior including arrest, expulsion and denial of future service by WSF.

Deputies on Orcas Island were dispatched to a report of an assault near Eastsound. A report was filed, and the case was referred to the office of the prosecuting attorney for prosecutorial review.

A Deputy on Orcas Island took a vandalism report. The investigation is ongoing.
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 22
21-001546 Accident-HitRun 10:24:41 02/22/21
A Deputy on San Juan responded to a hit and run call. The suspect was located and filed an infraction for improper backing and operating a motor vehicle without insurance. A citation for hit and run unattended vehicle was forwarded to the prosecutor.
21-001549 Welfare Check 11:16:15 02/22/21
A Deputy responded to a walk in report of a welfare check in Friday Harbor regarding a person possibly wanting to harm themselves. The person involved was located, denied needing any assistance, denied wanting to harm himself, and did not appear to be in distress. Informational report made.

A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a non-injury collision in Eastsound. An investigation commenced and a report was taken. Both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene.

A Deputy responded to a report of a person in a possible mental crisis. The person involved was found to not be in crisis at the time of talking with the Deputy and has an appointment with Compass Health later in the day. Informational report completed.
21-001576 Fraud 12:03:01 02/23/21
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a fraud complaint. An elderly person had been contacted by someone claiming the person had won a large sum of money. The caller was able to elicit several cash payments from the victim.
21-001581 Mental Health 12:38:37 02/23/21
A Deputy responded to a report of a naked female walking down the middle of the street in traffic. Upon speaking with the female, she started speaking in tongues, appeared to be in a mental health crisis, & was taken into protective custody & transported to the ER for a mental health evaluation.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a female defecating on the sidewalk. The suspect was contacted and a report was made.
21-001589 Welfare Check 15:54:57 02/23/21
A Deputy conducted a welfare check at a Lopez Island residence after a school official reported being concerned for the welfare of a student. There was no evidence that the child was in immediate distress and a report was completed.
