Inslee signed the last bills of the 2019 legislative session this week, which included his priority education legislation. It will create a statewide free college program and expand the Career Connect Washington initiative for students in high school and beyond. Tuesday was the last day the governor could complete all legislative work.

He also signed the operatingtransportation and capital budgets, as well as dozens of other bills including the human composting bill which has garnered much state, national and international attention.

Inslee signed a bill that demonstrates Washington’s ongoing commitment to protecting immigrant communities and recognizes the value of their contributions to our state and our economy.

“Washington state will not be a willing participant in promoting or carrying out mean-spirited policies that break up families and compromise our national security and community safety,” Inslee said.

Over the past several months, Inslee signed more than 460 bills into law. The 2019 Legislative Session ended on Sunday, April 28.
