Tuesdays, May 21 through July 2, 1 – 3 p.m., Episcopal Parish Hall

— from Alexandra Gayek —

Brené Brown, famous for her popular TED talk: The Power of Vulnerability, is a research professor studying courage, vulnerability, trust, shame, and empathy. These keys to happiness, resilience, and healthy relationships are what she calls whole-hearted living.

She’s published six books, including five #1 New York Times bestsellers: The Gifts of Imperfection, Daring Greatly, Rising Strong, Braving the Wilderness, and Dare to Lead, plus a brand new Netflix special, The Call to Courage. She’s done an Oprah SuperSoul Session and had articles and podcasts published widely.

Several of her works are at the Orcas Library. You can learn about her and access videos of her talks, podcasts, and articles at brenebrown.com. The book group will start with her first book, I Thought It Was Just Me, (But It Isn’t) and meet weekly on Tuesdays from May 21 through July 2 at the old Episcopal Parish Hall from 1 – 3 p.m. to discuss each chapter and how it applies in our own lives.

Group size is limited. To join, call Dr. Alexandra Gayek at 360-376-5484.
