You Can Impact State Budget Negotiations

Neither the Washington State House nor Senate came into full session this week.  Daily negotiations continue between the Governor, the Democratic and the Republican budget negotiators.  The Republican Senate released another budget version late in the week.

Please take some time to write a Letter to the Editor and send e-mail to the budget negotiators–we need to call attention to the harsh cuts the Senate- passed Republican budget makes.  If you haven’t seen it, the WA State Budget and Policy Center editorial at https://budgetandpolicy.org/schmudget/want-sustainability-reform-the-revenue-system has a very clear explanation of the budget differences between the budgets proposed by the two Houses.

The budget negotiators are:  Reps. Chopp, Sullivan, Hunter, Darneille, DeBolt, and Alexander in the House and Sens. Brown, Murray, Kilmer, Hewitt, and Zarelli.  Use this method to address them: firstname.lastname@leg.wa.gov  .
