American Public Transportation Association TRANSform Conference
For the second week in a row, hundreds of people in the transportation industry converged in Seattle. Like the Interferry Conference last week, it was great to meet and network with transit professionals in town for this week’s American Public Transportation Association TRANSform Conference. On Tuesday, we hosted many attendees on tours of our Colman Dock project in Seattle, on board Wenatchee and Tacoma on sailings to Bainbridge Island and back, and our Eagle Harbor Maintenance Facility.
Mariners flags to fly on downtown Seattle vessels
In support of the Mariners weekend American League Division Series home games against the Houston Astros, we’re going to fly the team flag starting tomorrow, Oct. 14, on all our ferries that serve Colman Dock in downtown Seattle. They will remain up through at least Saturday, Oct. 15, or fingers crossed, until Sunday, Oct. 16. Go Mariners!
Vessel names changed to various Seattle Mariners
Restoring service systemwide (PDF 605KB) is our top priority, but we thought we’d take a few minutes to have a little fun and honor the Seattle Mariners for advancing to the Major League Baseball American League Division Series! Gov. Jay Inslee has directed that all 21 vessels in our fleet be temporarily renamed after team players and personnel. The names will remain in place as long as the M’s remain in the Major League Baseball postseason.
45-year service award
Director of Finance and Administration Rick Singer and I presented a rare 45-year service award to Senior Budget & Program Development Manager John Bernhard last week. Thank you, John, for your service and dedication over the years. Congratulations on this amazing milestone!
