“Tools for revisioning and revising your writing:story/poem/memoir/essay” will be the topic at the next Writer’s Roundtable on Saturday, June 9 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Orcas Island Public Library in Eastsound.

Philomena Robinson will be the Presenter at this Roundtable. She quotes from Thoreau, who said, “The real journey of discovery is not seeking new landscape but seeing it with new eyes.”

Robinson adds, “Writers who astonish me are those who share their vision of the inner or outer landscape in ways I have never imagined.

“The tools shared in this roundtable could run the gamut from changing one word to taking one word and beginning a whole new writing. Please bring a piece of writing that needs something but you don’t quite know what and/or a quote from a writer who brought you to reader ‘nirvana.’

“Or just bring yourself to add to the mix of ideas and voices, perhaps finding a word or idea that entices you to new writing.”

All are welcome to this monthly event, usually held the second Saturday of the month.

Philomena Robinson has studied and practiced writing since 1983. Her book Completing the Circle, containing short shorts and poems is in the collection of the National Archives for Visual Poetry.
