Jill McCabe Johnson, presenter
Come enjoy and discuss the works of a wide range of contemporary Asian-American poets, including Li-Young Lee, Kimiko Hahn, Aimee Nezhukumatathil, Ocean Vuong, Rick Barot, Ravi Shankar, Mari L’Esperance, and more. Feel free to bring poems by any of your favorites, too.
Jill McCabe Johnson’s poetry collection, Diary of the One Swelling Sea (MoonPath, 2013), received the Nautilus Silver Award in Poetry. She is series editor for the University of Nebraska Gender Programs, including Becoming: What Makes a Woman (2012), and Being: What Makes a Man (2015). Honors include an Academy of American Poets prize, Louise Van Sickle fellowship in poetry, and the Editor’s Prize in Poetry from ScissorTale Review. Jill’s work has appeared in journals such as Harpur Palate, Brevity, The Los Angeles Review, and Prairie Schooner.
