Saturday, July 30, 1 – 3 p.m., Orcas Library
— from JoEllen Moldoff —
Merwin is one of America’s most celebrated poets. We will discuss a selection of twenty poems taken from three of Merwin’s late works: The Rain in the Trees (1988), The Vixen (2005), and The Moon Before Morning (2015). (It would be helpful to bring copies of these books to the reading.)
John Friedmann is Honorary Professor in the School of Community and Regional Planning at the University of British Columbia and a part-time resident on Orcas Island. John has read and discussed poetry at the Writers Roundtable over the past several years, including some of his own translations.
All are welcome!
