The final event in the Funhouse’s annual “Get Off The Rock” College Counseling series is coming soon.

College Essay Workshop will be presented at the Funhouse on  Saturday May 16th from 9 -10:30 a.m.  and Sunday May 17th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Sarah Callender, Seattle-based college essay consultant, will conduct a 2-day workshop, focusing on writing the college application essay. On Saturday, Sarah will provide instruction and inspiration to help students write essays that allow their voice, personality and unique attributes to shine. On Sunday, students are encouraged to bring an outline or rough draft of an essay and review the draft with Sarah in small group sessions. Sarah is also available for two essay consults, via email, during the summer (no additional fee). Students should come ready to brainstorm, armed with pen, paper and any interesting essay prompts for their colleges of choice. Advanced sign-ups for these sessions are required, with preference given to current Juniors.

The cost to participate is $20 for Funhouse Members, and $35 for Non-Members. As always, Funhouse scholarships are available and no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Students and their parents/guardians are requested to reserve a space no later than May 8.  To make reservations, ask questions, request a scholarship for this event, please e-mail Kate Hansen at kate@thefunhouse.org.
