The Exchange is sponsoring another round of workshops that will help you keep your household food waste out of the landfill and turn it into dark, rich compost for your garden!

On October 10th and 11th , our resident composting expert Nancy Schafer will host “Wormapalooza” a class on vermiculture—or how to compost at home using worms–at the Orcas Grange Hall.

The class is free, but worm bins, bedding and the worms themselves will be available for purchase at the event. To sign up for Wormapalooza, visit our website at www.exchangeorcas.org

Orcas Recycling Services/The Exchange is a community-driven 501(c)(3) non-profit with a mission to: “Building a zerowaste community and mitigating climate crisis through service, education, and stewardship of our waste/resource streams.”

Orcas Recycling Services/The Exchange has been in operation since 1981, managing the Orcas Island Transfer Station since September 2013, and operating a new Exchange reuse store since November 2017. www.exchangeorcas.org
