Art from “Granny’s Clan” will be on display at the Senior Center the month of October

Reception – Thursday, October 25 at 6 pm at the Senior Center

Author Dr. Sally Hodson and illustrator Ann Jones invite you to the World of Granny’s Clan Show at the Senior Center from Oct. 2nd to Oct. 31st to see how they created their children’s picture book.  Granny’s Clan: A Tale of Wild Orcas tells the story of one-hundred year old Granny (J-2), a wild orca great-great-grandmother and her family. This picture book takes young readers on a real-life adventure with Granny and two young orcas as they welcome a new baby, “see” with sounds, hunt for salmon, play, communicate, face dangers and encounter humans.

Featuring the rich pastel art of Ann Jones, the World of Granny’s Clan Show visually presents how words and art were woven together to create this story.  Join them on Thursday, October 25th at 6:00 pm for a reception and a conversation about the art and science of creating this picture book story.  Copies of Granny’s Clan: A Tale of Wild Orcas are available for purchase at Darvill’s Bookstore.  Sally and Ann will sign your copy of Granny’s Clan after the talk.
