The next Women’s Wellness Weekend at YMCA Camp Orkila will take place March 4-6. Some of the activities on the schedule include needle felting, fimo beads, card craft, crocheted flip-flops, earring-making, many types of yoga, jazz dance, Core & More, QiGong, drama games, kayaking, challenge course elements, archery, metabolism workshop, energetic movement classes, and more. This is an alcohol-free and tobacco-free event.
Delicious meals are served, and guests can stay overnight in a selection of accommodations. Local participants also have the option of coming Friday evening and just for the day on Saturday, for $58, including meals and activities (no overnight accommodations). Local massage practitioners offer massage on –site for an additional fee.
All activities are optional, and each woman is encouraged to do whatever she needs to do for herself. If a quiet weekend reading, knitting, and napping is what the soul yearns for, then so be it.
Women’s Wellness Weekend happens twice a year at Orkila. While the fall event is for adult women only, the spring event is also open to chaperoned girls in tenth grade and older.
