WOLFCHILD comes to Orcas Center

For the first concert of the year, Orcas Center welcomes WOLFCHILD to Center Stage on Friday, January 24 at 7pm. Many thanks to Doe Bay Resort for providing artist housing!

WOLFCHILD has performed on stages such as The Troubadour, Mississippi Studios, “The Egg” (Albany, NY), Folklore (UK), and Java (Paris); At festivals like Imagine Music & Arts, Cascade Equinox, Oregon Country Faire, SXSW, Burning Man, 4 Peaks, Summer Meltdown, Northwest Folklife, and many more. And at the heart of the project is Gabriel Wolfchild and his brother Elion TruthHeart.

Gabriel’s emotive lyricism, enchanting vocals, and unique guitar work quickly won over Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Christina Aguilera on NBC’s The Voice with his soulful rendition of Dylan’s “Don’t Think Twice It’s Alright”, culminating in a national tour.

Elion is a virtuoso multi-instrumentalist who effortlessly flows between drums and a variety of exotic string and woodwind accompaniment. He contributes to a rich vocal harmony that only brothers can create.

The duo has been playing music together since their earliest years. But, in many ways, they have evolved to be about as different as they can be from one another. It is in that contrast that they find their creative spark. Together they weave cathartic storytelling with dynamic soundscapes, from dreamy shoegaze-esk weightless atmosphere, to meditative orchestral overtones, and a rhythmic cinematic sound that could be the love child of Jonsi (Sigur Ros) and Nick Drake.

Updated Ticketing information: Tickets can be purchased online at www.OrcasCenter.org, over the phone at 360-376-2281 x 100, or in-person an hour before showtime. Ticket prices range from $23-$68 with a $2 per ticket fee. There are six $10 tickets available for this performance subsidized by our generous donors. These are available on a first-come/first serve basis by contacting the Box Office before January 24. And don’t forget, volunteers who help with iPad check-in or serving refreshments at intermission get to see the show for free!
