Chamber of Commerce Christmas Tree Lighting starts at 3:30 with hot cider and baked treats. Music and tree lighting until about 5 p.m. Tat the Eastsound Village Green.

Kenyan calling bake sale to help support Mary Ann Slabaugh’s independent service project in a Chwele, a Kenyan village this July at farm stand across from the museum 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Foods from Sweden, South Korea and Orcas Isle will be on sale. Baskets from Uganda, purses made in Chwele, African Family Circle stories and cook books and locally made Masai (Rafaki) friendship bracelets will be available.
Writer’s Roundtable from 1-3 p.m. at the public library. The Roundtable topic for December, “The Gift of Words: A Celebration of Writers and Writing,” will be facilitated by JoEllen Moldoff, who founded Writer’s Roundtable.
The 21st Annual Candlelight Spiral Walk at 2 p.m. at the Odd Fellows Hall. The entire community is invited to join in this event which will be hosted by the Orcas Montessori School and the Salmonberry School.
Olga Potluck celebrating Jane Barfoot-Hodde’s 99th Birthday. This year, Instead of having a gift exchange, everyone is asked to bring a donation for the Olga Community Center. Please decorate your envelope in the holiday spirit so that it can be used as a decoration on the Christmas tree. The Olga Community Club is providing a ham. Social hour starts at 5:30 p.m., and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. Remember to bring a place setting.

Lions Club Christmas Ship arrives at the Orcas Ferry Landing at 11 a.m.
“Prayer,” presented by Susan McBain at the Orcas Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (OIUUF) at 11 a.m. The service is held at the West Sound Community Hall, 884 Deer Harbor Road at Crow Valley Road in West Sound.
Care for Our World at Darvill’s Bookstore, 2 p.m. Children’s book author Karen Robbins will share her multiple award-winning book.
