A wine and food festival at beautiful Doe Bay Resort & Retreat, celebrating Washington’s small producers and local chefs is coming up. All proceeds after operating expenses will benefit The Exchange.

Saturday evening, “Meet the Winemakers” at a casual tasting with music in the Doe Bay Yoga Studio. Casual tasting – $10 for 10 tastes – winemakers who are on site can come and pour one wine, but again, a casual event. Music TBA

Wine in the Garden – Aroma Wheel Seminar, Doe Bay Garden, $10
Have you ever wanted to know more about identifying aromas and flavors in wine? Come to the Doe Bay Garden, where we will have a Sensory Laboratory set up – oh, yes, its called a garden! We’ll have dried and fresh herbs, fruits, vegetables, even rocks, set up for you to sniff and then taste some aromatic wines to freshen your senses before the grand tasting.

Grand Tasting
The Grand Tasting will take place on Sunday from 1 – 5 p.m., under a tent on the bluff above the beach at Doe Bay.

At this tasting, you will have the chance to enjoy bites from Orcas Island’s great chefs, including Doe Bay’s Jon Chapelle, Geddes Martin from Inn at Ship Bay and 2 oyster bars by Buck Bay Shellfish Farm and Taylor Shellfish. Enjoy wines from some of Washington’s top wineries, including Cedergreen, Lullaby, Guardian, Masquerade, Proletariat and more.

For beer lovers, Orcas Island’s new Island Hoppin’ Brewery will be pouring their beers as well. Join us for Father’s Day – or just bring a friend and enjoy the island’s bounty and some great wine! You can also buy bottles and get a 10% case discount for cases of your favorite wines!
