“Enchanted Forest” at Off Center Stage Thursday, October 20 – Saturday, October 22 at 7:30 p.m. Deborah Sparks has conceived and directed an ensemble of fun-loving, local talent in this 60s, 70s and Steampunk-inspired cabaret of love. Through songs, dances (including Bollywood choreography by Prashant Kakad) and fun, this mischievous, magical, and riotous evening unfolds into a contemporary love story. The crew includes: Jake Perrine, musical and sound director; Paula McDonald, choreographer; Dean Carey (Gypsy) and Annie Sparks-Dempster, costume design and construction. Sets and props were designed and constructed by Chris Brems and Sparks. Stephen Forsythe, a faux paint artist, added his magic touch to our life-size Santos.  Enchanted Forest features: Jake Perrine, Grace McCune, Khadoma Colomby, Emily Aring, Fabrice Van Putten, The Steampunk Dance Ensemble, Mathew Laslo-White and the five Sweet-Mischief Kids. Guided Walk on Hogback Preserve In conjunction with the San Juan Preservation Trust (SJPT), the Land Bank invites you to a guided walk on Hog Back Preserve 1 to 3 p.m. The preserve protects one of the best examples of a native-grass prairie remaining on Orcas Island, plus the views are fantastic out to the east side of the archipelago. The hike in to the preserve is via the Moran State Park’s SE boundary trail. Meet at the intersection of Pt. Lawrence and Obstruction Pass roads, then we will carpool to the site.The hike is about 3/4 of a mile and is strenuous. The Land Bank holds a conservation easement on this land and the SJPT retains ownership. For more information please call 378-4402.
