Bernie Sanders, Vermont Senator and candidate for U.S. President

On Sunday, Feb. 28 at 3 pm at the Odd Fellows Hall in Eastsound, supporters of Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign will host an event, free and open to the public, called “Who Is Bernie Sanders and Why is He Running for President?”

People who want to learn more about Bernie Sanders, ask questions and talk about the issues are encouraged to come. People who are already interested in and like what Bernie is saying are also encouraged to come.

One month before the Democratic Caucuses on Orcas, this is an opportunity to learn about Bernie’s history, both personal and political: His time as mayor of Burlington, Vermont, his record in the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate, his platform, what he means by Democratic Socialism, and why his supporters believe he is in the best position to accomplish what he proposes to do for our country and the American people.
