||| FROM TATE THOMPSON for THE WHALE MUSEUM |||

The Whale Museum is holding two open houses for anyone interested in volunteering with The Whale Museum’s Education Department. The open house events will be held on February 13 and 24 from 11a.m. – noon, at The Whale Museum.

If you have some spare time and are interested in the Salish Sea and marine mammals, this is the perfect
opportunity for you! Education Department staff will be available to discuss volunteer opportunities and
answer questions. Light refreshments will be served.

On-site volunteer opportunities include becoming a docent to educate visitors and youth about marine
mammals as well as serving as preschool and elementary teaching assistants. No experience is necessary –
training will be provided! Scheduling can be flexible. Open House attendance is not a requirement to volunteer at The Whale Museum.
