— from Washington State Senate Democrats —

Following the resignation of Rep. Jeff Morris last week, Alex Ramel has been appointed to serve as a state representative for Washington’s 40th Legislative District in the State House of Representatives. Joining Rep. Debra Lekanoff (D-Bow) and Sen. Liz Lovelett (D-Anacortes), Ramel will represent constituents living in San Juan, Whatcom and Skagit counties.

“I’m looking forward to working with Rep. Ramel during these upcoming months,” said Lovelett. “I have had the privilege of knowing and working with him for several years, and have seen him champion environmental causes throughout Whatcom and Skagit counties. His expertise will be a welcome addition to the House, and I’m certain he will be a reliable legislator for the 40th District.”

Ramel was sworn in as the 2020 legislative session kicks off.
