Physical Acting for Children and Adults Jake Perrine – Acting Teacher, Director, Writer, Audio Engineer, teaches physical-based acting techniques for children ages 10 to 13. His teaching is highly active, fun, disciplined (like Karate) and a great way for children to develop an awareness of using their bodies in acting. Fidelis Flea Market, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at West Sound Community Hall. Multi-vendors and a delicious lunch prepared by Christina Orchid. The Fidelis Circle women’s group in West Sound is sponsoring this event to raise funds for its annual High School Graduation Recognition Awards given to several West Sound high school seniors.

April Verch at Orcas Center at 7:30 pm. Dynamic Canadian fiddler, singer and stepdancer, brings musical traditions from her native Ottawa Valley in Ontario and invariably wins the hearts of her audience members. Cost: $25, $17 (Orcas Center members), $11 (students) Call 376-2281.

Orcas Horns Valentine’s Dance Concert 8:30 p.m. at the Odd Fellows Hall. Come enjoy the rhythms and grooves of the Orcas Horns for a fun filled evening of dance with your sweetie. The event is a fundraiser for the Odd Fellows’ student scholarship which is awarded to a community-oriented high school senior every year. Tickets are $10 for adults & $5 for 12 and under and are available at Darvill’s Bookstore.

Valentine’s Day for Kids at Darvill’s Bookstore – Lynne Howe, the beguiling Valentine troubadour, will be hosting this hour of stories, crafts, and sweet treats, from 2 to 3 p.m. Children’s Valentine books on the shelves, gifts for your Valentine plus local artist April Pollock has made beautiful heart bookmarks in several sizes, and from Theo Chocolate, delicious chocolate bars in both dark and milk chocolate

Farm to Cafeteria’s 4-Star, intimate dinner, catered by Jacob and Kristi Angel at Odd Fellows, 6:30 p.m. (Downstairs, seating limited). All of the proceeds will be given to the Orcas Island Farm to Cafeteria Program in our public school. The evening will begin with three hors d’oeuvres, followed by three elegant courses including Fillet Mignon with vegetarian variations available upon request. Glasses will be provided for guests bringing their own wine of preference to the table. Make your reservation soon for this very special dinner. Cost: $75 per person donation benefiting the Farm to Cafeteria Program.
