AND THE WINNER IS….
Sometimes it’s just worth the wait. It had been four years since the Orcas Island Education Foundation hosted the annual Grilled Cheese Showdown. (You know…Covid. Covid again.). But after four years, on February 15th, the Showdown came back to stunning…and cheesy…success.
Six FANTASTIC teams grilled their hearts out. Thank you so much to: Team Olga Rising, Team Orcas Bakery, Team Otters Pond, home chef teams Laura Holding/Kevin Ranker, and Baird/Frankie Nuckolls.
And congratulations to the 2024 Showdown winner: the team from the Orcas Hotel. Their “Triple Crown” sandwich was the top vote getter.
Thank you to all our volunteers, bake sale queens Blythe Simpson and Sharylin Lippmann, the ASB students, and Kyle Freeman.
Also a HUGE thank you to the OISD – especially Madden Surbaugh, Jason and Andy.
Last, but not least – thank you to everyone who came out to support the Orcas Island Education Foundation. It means a world of difference to our schools.
