There’s many an adventure and treat in store as Orcasians young and old don costumes to celebrate All Hallows’ Eve, otherwise known as Hallowe’en.
Here’s some of the public events that are happening Thursday, October 31 — tomorrow!:
Trick-or-Treating in Eastsound from 3 pm to 5:30 pm
Lots of shops will have goodies & treats for the little goblins wandering through town.
Trick of Treat for Books from 3 – 6 pm at the Public Library
Kids and parents are invited to stop by the meeting room at the Orcas Island Public Library for a chance to show off their Halloween costumes and trick-or-treat for a book. Come in and pick out a book and have your picture taken. Books are made possible through a grant from Friends of the Orcas Island Library. Call Nita Couchman at 376-4985 for further information.
Haunted House at Eastsound Fire Station, from 4 – 7 pm
Station 21 has never been creepier! Kids of all ages are invited to visit the best Haunted House on Orcas Island! There will be a younger kids version of the Haunted House, and one for those who enjoy being scared out of their wits! And, Glow sticks and goodie bags for all the kids.
First Ever Orcas Halloween Dance for Kids! from 4 – 6 pm at Odd Fellows Hall
Bring your kiddos to the first ever Halloween Party for Kids. Enjoy Hot Spiced Cider and Decaf Chai by Holly, Hot French Fries from Madrona Bar & Grill, Face Painting,Tattoo’s, Glowsticks, Music, Fun & Games. Contact Anji Ringzin at anji@rockisland.com. And be sure to check out our Facebook Page
Annual Halloween Dance Party and More at the Odd Fellows Hall,starting at 7 pm
Free film showing of “Them!” at 7 pm. Music and dancing begins at 8:30 pm with music from the Red Tide and Sandfleas. There are prizes for best costumes.
Halloween Haunt Costume Party from 7 – 10 pm at the Moran Lounge, Rosario
Music by Gene Nery & Best Costume prizes.
National Theatre Live On Screen: Frankenstein 7:30 pm @ Orcas Center
The encore screening of Frankenstein returns to cinemas as part of the National Theatre’s 50th anniversary celebrations. Frankenstein won the 2012 Olivier Award for Best Actor for Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller. Cumberbatch (Star Trek: Into Darkness, BBC’s Sherlock) will be shown as the Creature. $15, $11 (students) $2 off for Orcas Center members. For more information, call 376-2281 ext 1.
