Are you interested in gaining professional experience in schools? Do you want to make a difference in the lives of kids on beautiful Orcas Island? If so, the Washington Service Corps and Orcas Island Public Elementary School needs you.
As a Washington Service Corps member you would commit to a 10.5 month term of service where you would be tutoring struggling readers, as well as helping to plan school and family literacy events at the Orcas Island Public Elementary School. This is a 40-hour per week position.
In return for your service, you will receive a monthly $1,307 living allowance, health insurance, an educational award of $5,920 upon successful completion, and help with childcare costs if eligible.
