The forests of Turtleback Mountain tell a story rooted in geology, first peoples, settlement, industry, and conservation. Forester and restoration ecologist Carson Sprenger will lead us into the mountain’s north woods to illustrate the relationship between “big,” “old,” and “old growth.”
- Time: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm; we will break for lunch on the mountain
- Distance: 4-5 miles round trip
- Elevation gain: 800 feet, easy pace
- Meet/Park: North Trailhead Parking off Crow Valley Road
- Bring: Trail-appropriate footwear; water; lunch; binoculars
