January 11 is the deadline for mail-in, online or transfer registrations.
Forms may be picked up at the Public Library, or can be filled in online at www.vote.wa.gov, where voters can also update their mailing addresses. Voter registration status can be confirmed and checked online here as well.
New, never-before-registered voters can register in the above manner, or at the county elections office in Friday Harbor until 4:30 p.m., February 1.
Ballots will be mailed January 21. They can be returned to the Senior Center drop box up until 8pm on Election Day, Tuesday, February 9, or can be mailed at a post office on Orcas up until 2pm on Election Day.
At least two dozen ballots from Orcas were not counted in the last election because voters dropped their ballots in mail slots at the various post offices on the Island after the outgoing mail cut-off occurred on Election Day
