— from Learner Limbach, Orcas Food Co-op —
What an incredible weekend we just had at the Co-op! With the energy we had in the building you wouldn’t know it was rainy and gloomy outside.
Sunday over 30 people showed up throughout the day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and a lot of the more difficult painting work was accomplished. Heidi and Rob of Local Goods supplied granola and coffee for the workers and Troller Point Fisheries contributed smoked salmon, while several of the volunteers prepared other dishes to share.
It has been a tremendous success thus far but there is still a lot to do in this final push toward an opening day deadline of June 1st. To make way for the next steps to happen on time all of the final interior painting and carpentry needs to get done this week. Every day this week people are encouraged to stop by and lend a hand to help us reach our opening day deadline.
Experienced painters and carpenters are especially needed at this time as we put the final touches on the remodel.
If you can help simply show up or contact the Co-op to let us know your availability. Ken Katz 298-2642, Learner Limbach 317-8780, or email info@orcasfoodcoop.com
Once again, a huge THANK YOU to all of our incredible volunteers!
