Sustainably managed farmland can provide a rich environment for birds, and at the Coffelt Farm Preserve this is well demonstrated. The diversity of forest, open pastures, hedgerows, ponds, marsh, orchards, and gardens provides a haven for many resident and migrant avian species.

Ornithologist Kim Middleton’s knowledge and deep appreciation for birds is a delight. Anyone curious about the natural history of the islands and the value of habitat protection will enjoy this time with an amazing teacher in a beautiful setting.
