In today’s certification of the Nov.3 ballot, Vicki Vandermay retained her lead over Marian O’Brien for the position of Orcas Rec Commissioner #1.
Vandermay won by four votes. The other Orcas Rec Commissioners — Martha Farish, Bob Eagan, Ian Lister and Jim Bredouw, were uncontested in their positions. Voters approved the formation of an Orcas Park and Recreation District by over three-quarters of the ballots turned in.
