Please join us on:
Sunday, February 7th
11:30 a.m.
Benson Hall – Emmanuel Episcopal Church
Chalice Group discussion: Loving Ourselves
Leaders: Suzanne Olson and Sandi Burt, MSW

Thoughts to consider for our group discussion:

  • “The most fundamental aggression to ourselves, the most fundamental harm we can do to ourselves, is to remain ignorant by not having the courage and the respect to look at ourselves honestly and gently.” –Pema Chödrön, When Things Fall Apart: Heart Advice for Difficult Times
  • How does shame block self love?
  • Can I forgive others more easily than myself?
  • How do I differentiate self love and narcissism?
  • “And God said ‘Love Your Enemy,’ and I obeyed him and loved myself.” –Kahlil Gibran
  • When is it easier to love yourself? When is it harder?
  • What would it look like if we did truly love ourselves?

All are welcome.

Potluck to follow at 12:30 in Benson Hall – please bring FINGER FOOD to share
