||| FROM ORCAS ISLAND SCHOOL DISTRICT |||

As we close out the year 2022 and welcome 2023, we wanted to take this time to share with you what our amazing group of students and staff have been up to these past few months. We also wanted to take a moment and post some important upcoming dates:

IMPORTANT – Wednesday, December 21 (today)-Friday, December 23rd:

After much thought and consideration, the administrative staff have concluded that, for the safety of the students, all Orcas Island schools will continue distance learning for the reminder of the week. With temperatures dropping well below freezing and not much possibility of a melt to release cars ad make roads safe to travel on, we believe it is in the best interest of the community that we finish out the year safely. No on-campus classes will be held until after we return from break, however each school will be holding virtual classes online. If you have any questions about your student’s learning plan, please reach out to your child’s teacher and/or the building principal.

RESCHEDULED – Thursday, December 22: Elementary School Concert: With the potential of more snow and below freezing temperatures, the Elementary concert will be postponed until Thursday, January 19th, 2022.

December 24th-January 8th: We know it is a little later than usual this year, but don’t forget about WINTER BREAK! We wish everyone a cozy, restful and happy holiday with family and loved ones (including our four-legged friends), and a happy new year! We will see everyone back at school on January 9th!
