from Joe Brotherton, Owner
Doe Bay Resort

Doe Bay was heartbroken to lose the Olga Café. We refer guests there all year round, but especially at Doe Bay Fest. Although we were fully staffed, we have been able to employ some of the workers who were suddenly jobless.

We are offering our Doe Bay Café gallery space for August to the Artists who have found themselves with no place to sell their work. We are waiving our usual one-third participation and giving 100 percent of proceeds to the artists.

We are officially sold out of tickets for our upcoming Doe Bay Fest, but we want our island friends and neighbors to be able to enjoy the talent that we are so lucky to be able to bring to Orcas. So, if you live on Orcas and would like to attend, we have set aside 20 tickets. They are $90 a piece and first come first serve if you call or visit the Doe Bay Store, 376-2291. Because of the event, we are closed to non-festival guests from Thursday Noon until Monday morning. All guests must have a wristband to be on the property during the festival.

We encourage all of our guests to visit and buy from local shops, stores, restaurants and vendors. I know that our local businesses will make them feel welcome. We have pushed carpooling and chartered dozens of water taxis. Over one-third of our guests will be coming directly to our beach by water taxi, and another 20 percent will walk on and we will shuttle them.

We are getting experienced at this and try very hard to minimize impacts on our fellow islanders. If you have any concern or see any problem or need any help, please call 376-2291 and or email Joe@DoeBay.com, Office@DoeBay.com and or Jami@DoeBay.com.
