A preference in favor of Prop. 1 that will initiate a new sales tax for long-needed emergency communications upgrades seems headed for approval. The election was held on Tuesday, February 11.
PROPOSITION NO. 1 – SALES AND USE TAX FOR EMERGENCY COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS AND FACILITIES – SAN JUAN
- YES VOTES: 4,240 (69.06%)
- NO VOTES: 1,900 (30.94%)
- TOTAL VOTES: 6,140
Total turnout for the election was 46.19% of 13.345 eligible voters. The next ballot count is scheduled for 5 p.m., February 18, with 300 ballots left to count.
