On Saturday night, Dec. 20, Orcas’ own Splinters will be playing the Lower Tavern to benefit The Exchange. The Splinters, a pop/punk rock band, will play around 9 pm, and will likely be joined by a few friends as well. This show will have a suggested $5 per person donation at the door.

The Exchange/Orcas Recycling Services is a community-driven non-profit committed to the sustainable, responsible management of Orcas Island’s waste stream. The Exchange/ORS has been operating the Orcas Island Transfer Station since September 2013.
I hope someone will be planning some benefits for the Exchange that will be aimed at us “older folks”…Maybe soup and bedtime stories…..well, maybe not that bad! Merry

Good idea; perhaps a movie night or evening? I can recommend a few great recycling theme-related movies: for instance, “Wasteland.” Very inspiring film.
