||| FROM ALYSSA BURNETT for TURNING THE WHEEL |||

Turning The Wheel is a non-profit organization spreading creativity, embodiment, and play to communities across the country and will be making their way to Orcas Island in just a couple of weeks!

Turning the Wheel serves youth by offering them integral life skills and social emotional learning, and they do this in a unique way: from an inclusive, play, movement, and arts based teaching modality that has been well honed over 30 years of working nationally in schools with diverse and at-risk populations. Through their programming, people of all ages and abilities come into the wisdom of their bodies, form connections and ignite their creativity, building resilience, engagement and vibrant health. You can find out more here: https://www.turningthewheel.org.

Turning The Wheel will be providing programming to our island community from the 9th to the 16th of April and will be working with local schools as well as partnering with the Funhouse for an afterschool program for children. There is also a multi-generational creative play pop-up scheduled for April 9th from 1:30-3:00 at Oddfellows Hall. Come connect and play while incredible live music from Jesse Manno backdrops our time together! Bring your family, friends, and neighbors! It’s sure to be a joyous time.”
