Tuesday, June 5 at 7 p.m. at the Grange

“Torso,” is a dark, riveting and emotional exploration of grief and revenge. Steeped in grief after the wrongful death of her sister, Daphne learns that a childhood friend has been arrested for a shocking crime back in her family’s Midwestern hometown. As Daphne sets off on a desperate investigation to find out what happened, she finds that her own longing for the settling of scores can’t be ignored. This dark play explores how thin the line is between those who think dark thoughts and those who act on them. The playwright will attend one of the closing weekend performances.

This play contains strong language and minor nudity. Most of the actors in this play will play more than one character. The ability to differentiate these characters both physically and vocally is important.

A copy of the script is available at the library.

There will be seven performances of TORSO at the Grange over three weekends beginning August 31st ending September 16th. Twice a week rehearsals will begin in June, increasing to four rehearsals a week by August.

There will be two audition sessions. You only need to attend one. Auditions will be at 7 pm at the Grange on Tuesday, June 5th and Thursday, June 7th. If you can’t make either of these times, or have any questions, call the director, Doug Bechtel, at 317-5601.
