A candlelight vigil in memory of Renee Nicole Good
||| FROM INDIVISIBLE SAN JUANS |||
These are some dark and tumultuous times, accelerating under our current administration.
Tonight, January 9, at 5:30pm, at the Courthouse Lawn, we stand in solidarity with Minneapolis and offer a candlelight vigil in memory of Renee Nicole Good. As you may know, Renee Good was shot at close range in her neighborhood. She had just dropped her son off at school.
On January 7th, Renee Good, an American Citizen, was killed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This killing is a part of a broader pattern of unchecked violence and abuse carried out by federal immigration enforcement agencies against members of our communities.
Indivisible, MoveOn, the American Civil Liberties Union, Voto Latino, United We Dream, 50501, and the Disappeared in America Campaign of the Not Above the Law Coalition, and a broad coalition of groups across the country are calling for a coordinated ICE Out For Good Weekend of Action this weekend to demand accountability, honor the life lost, and make visible the human cost of ICE’s actions.
We hope you will join us tonight!
Mark your calendars for upcoming events:
Sunday, January 11, at 12pm at the Courthouse Lawn – Protesting ICE / Authoritarianism – We will gather to continue pressing for accountability from this administration.
Tuesday, January 20, at 2pm, starts at Courthouse Lawn – Free America Walkout -Fight Fascism!
These are fluid times! We will do our best to adjust to the current news regarding Emergency Protests, so we can gather in solidarity, which will strengthen our resolve to fight for our freedoms and our determination for a better future.
Thank you for your support and engagement, it does make a difference
