Tickets are now on sale for THE Orcas Island Education Foundation fundraiser event of the year. The annual Food for Thought auction benefit is November 19th at Camp Orkila.
This year many of our local artists have created fantastic works of art out of plain balsa wood boxes. The boxes will be auctioned at the event. Red Rabbit Farm, Ship Bay, Doe Bay, Erb’s, and three gifted amateur chefs – including our own Elementary/Middle School principal Kyle Freeman — will provide delicious food!
If you’d like a sneak preview of the boxes stop by the Chamber of Commerce to pick up a list of business locations where the boxes are displayed throughout Eastsound. You can also see them on-line by going to the OIEF.org website and clicking the link on the home page.
All proceeds raised at the “Food for Thought” Auction Benefit go to support our public schools. Tickets may be purchased at Darvill’s, the Chamber of Commerce, and the public Elementary school office. The event starts at 6pm. Shuttles will be provided from the Orkila parking lot to the Lodge. Child Care is provided through Orcas Rec at the Funhouse. Please call Orcas Rec (376-5339) to make arrangements. This is the most important fundraiser event for OIEF – come join the fun and help our public schools!
