JP and the OK Rhythm Boys

By Madie Murray

Tickets are now on sale for the very first Farm to Cafeteria community fundraiser called “A Simple Sunday Supper.” It will feature the spirited toe-tapping music of Orcas’s own Anita Orne, Gordon Koenig and JP Wittman of JP and the OK Rhythm Boys.  In a style only they can relate, they will be performing, in their words, “Fiddle tunes, swing, rags, waltzes, hoe down, pretty much whatever catches your fancy!”

Also, to please your pallet will be a buffet spread of comfort cuisine containing fresh local foods from Taproot, Maple Rock and Jones Family Farm and prepared by past, present and future Celebrity Chefs Lisa Nakamura of Allium, Madden of The Quilted Pig, Abigael Birrell of Doe Bay Cafe, Christina, Charles of The Kitchen, Mat and Ryan of Deer Harbor Inn and Kathryn Taylor Chocolates. Freshly-pressed Goldeneye Farm apple cider will be one of the beverage choices along with a no-host wine bar.

And for those of you who can’t leave a fundraiser without one, we will have raffle and auction items, some handmade by students, featuring farm, food and garden items you just can’t live without.

Mark your calendar: Sunday, November 14, 5-9 p.m. at Oddfellows Hall. Tickets are $35 if purchased before the event at the Chamber Office, or $40 at the door. Kid Care may be available.  Call Madie Murray at 3064 to confirm.
