Kate Munger, founder of Threshold Choir, comes to Orcas Island’s

From Susan Osborn Densmore

Kate Munger, founder of Threshold Choirs, is coming to Orcas.  The event will be on Monday, September 9, at 7 p.m.  in the Victorian Valley Chapel here on Orcas.

Admission is by donation for both Kate’s offering and the use of the chapel, courtesy of Sara Smith.

Here is Kate describing her work, “Singing to Heal Yourself and the World:”

When we welcome sorrow, holding loss as close to our hearts as we do joy and we do it within the context of song, then we are taking steps toward healing, towards belonging; we create an invitation to share with our community (of the moment and for all time) the depth and breadth of who we are and who we are becoming.  The gentle and heartfelt songs of the Threshold Choir sung with sincere focus on blending with the voices around us, are a balm to the weary, comfort to those who are struggling and a path for those who are dying.
Kate welcomes the singing community of Orcas Island to spend an evening of the kind of singing that is the frosting on the cupcake of community.   A donation that is generous, affordable and personally significant will be gratefully accepted.

Help spread the word! Perhaps out of this will come a Threshold Choir here on Orcas!
