May 4 and 5 at the Orcas Center, Orcas Choral Society sings Bach’s joyful Mass in F Major and Vivaldi’s beloved Gloria, with soloists and a full orchestra of island and Seattle talents. Come join us.
“This is great music for spring, full of light and life,” said Marianne Lewis, Artistic Director. “With outstanding soloists, strings, bassoon, oboes, trumpet, French horns, and Roger Sherman on the harpsichord, we’ll have a party for the ear and the heart.”
The concert opens at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, May 4 and again at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 5, both at the Orcas Center, 917 Mt. Baker Rd., Eastsound. Tickets, $18, $5 students, are available from the Orcas Center box office or https://orcascenter.org/
Also, on Thursday, May 2, Orcas’ own Roger Sherman will give a free pre-concert talk, “Bach Meets Vivaldi,” at 4 p.m. at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church parish hall at 242 Main St., Eastsound.
